Live on The One Show- 10/03/2014
Well I made a surprise visit to London on yesterday (Monday); to be a guest on The One Show!
Alex Jones one of the hosts on the show is climbing up Moonlight Buttress in Utah and they needed an experienced climber on the show to answer some questions.
Feeling a bit awkward with my make up on in the green room, before the show.
I think the interview was about 3 minutes long but felt about 30 seconds. We'd gone through some stuff in rehearsal but there was so much more I wanted to say to Alex about her climb. But as is the way of these things, you are just getting into it and then it's over; all too brief.
Anyway, it was really nice to meet Alex and Matt (and Rory Bremner), they seemed great and I have to say I admire Alex for taking on this challenge for Sport Relief and also I'm jealous, Moonlight Buttress is on my list too!

The funny thing about the whole experience was that I HAD to wear make up. For the first time in about 25 years, my face was caked in gunk. It was quite weird seeing myself with make up on, the make up artist said she was doing a subtle job; I looked unrecognisable and felt like Jordan having a bad day! But they said you have to have it on as the cameras make you like white and pasty and show up all your imperfections- well, welcome to my world every morning in the bathroom!
After that, I don't think I'll be rushing out to Boots (or wherever girls go to buy make up) to kit myself out with the slappy.
All great though and a very interesting experience of behind the scenes of live tv, it’s fascinating seeing how it all works and watching people who are very good at what they do.
If you missed it, you can view it here for a limited time period.
Bring on the next one!
Trying to do my bit for Sport Relief, as I'll be away in Europe over that weekend. Bouldering in a onesie is quite good fun- kept me warm too, it was freezing!
